A summer on the hairpins of Alpe d’Huez
Camille was 9 when her parents took her to watch the Tour de France climb the hairpins of Alpe d’Huez, a few kilometres from the family home in Isère. She spent the whole day by the roadside, flag in hand, waiting for riders she would only see for a few seconds.
That same evening, she asked for a road bike. Two years later, she got her first racing licence with a local club.
Ten seasons of racing, and a lasting passion for competition
Camille raced ten seasons as an elite amateur, first on the roads of the Rhône-Alpes region and then all over France. She learned race tactics, pacing and how to read a course.
Since then she has followed the whole professional calendar, from the Flanders classics to the three Grand Tours. Since her teenage years she has kept a notebook recording the winners, memorable breakaways and decisive climbs of every season. Each spring she also sets herself a personal goal: a mountain sportive such as La Marmotte or L’Étape du Tour.
Today she leads cycling trips in the Alps and knows the region’s climbs by heart.
What she writes on Expert Bike
Camille breaks down the key moments of the season (Grand Tours, classics, sportives), shares her training methods and suggests the best routes and climbs in France. She also writes the articles dedicated to women’s cycling.
